Norco Foods has an exciting opportunity for an experienced full time Quality Assurance Laboratory Coordinator for our busy Milk factory in Labrador, employing in excess of 100 employees.

The Quality Assurance Laboratory Coordinator will have a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of our products through working together with to make a difference across the site and the broader company to help set, maintain and continually improve all facets of our quality systems through strong and consistent application of company standards.  

Ideally the successful applicant will possess the following essential & desirable selection criteria.

Essential selection criteria include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in food technology/science or microbiology desirable with strong analytical based processes in a food laboratory.
  • Detailed understanding of concepts in quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC)
  • Previous experience in a quality or microbiological role in Food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to problem solve.
  • A proactive, self starter you will be able to work autonomously and have the willingness to take on responsibility and ownership of tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety principles and supporting programs.

Technical WHS Officer

Norco Co-operative Limited is a well established and dynamic organisation which has grown from a regional dairy co-operative to a diverse manufacturing business with interests in Milk, Ice Cream, Cheese and other dairy, as well as Rural Retail Stores and Stock feed mills. 

Norco has undergone significant growth in the past decade and not only does the cooperative continue to expand, but there are also plans to increase the offering and market share both nationally and internationally. This growth has led to the need to expand the HR and WHS team and we are looking for a professional who will play a key role in achieving the effective maintenance and safe operation of all manufacturing and ancillary equipment, and compliance with statutory and regulatory WHS requirements. 

To be considered for this role you need to demonstrate the following selection criteria in your application:

  • Relevant qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical), WHS or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience providing WHS expertise in relation to engineering and maintenance requirements associated with production machinery and ancillary equipment.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to work across a variety of disciplines.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of WHS requirements relevant to the design, operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy skills in MS Office, MS Project and SAP.
  • Current Class C drivers licence.

In addition, the following would be desirable:

  • Proven experience in a food manufacturing environment.

The successful applicant will frequently travel between sites across Queensland and NSW.
