Another very successful “Eat Local Week” was held from 30th June to 8th July this year in the Scenic Rim of South Eastern Queensland.
Norco dairy farmers, David & Kay Tommerup of Kerry opened their farm to the public as part of the annual event. Four hundred people visited their dairy farm and the visitors were able to hand-feed calves and look at the day-to-day operations of a dairy farm.
The “Farm to Fork” open day at Tommerups was a great opportunity to chat with many locals and people from Brisbane and share with them the Norco story and give them the opportunity to quiz the farmers. Lots of people loved our flavoured and white milks and told us which milk was their favourite and which they already buy or will now go and find in their supermarket.
Norco was very well represented on the day with the Norco Foods van being manned by Michael Undery (local dairy farmer), Ian Malcolm (Norco Foods sales representative) and Roisin Dunne (Norco Milk Supply Field Officer—Central) who handed out milk samples to the visitors.
Dave and Kay Tommerup spoke to the guests about supplying milk to Norco and all their staff wore their Norco hats, of course!
Norco’s products were also featured at another Eat Local Week event at Canungra.
